Marriage is like making a great bottle of wine. You put in the right ingredients, work at it with love and patience, and you find yourself with a wine with a sweet bouquet that warms the soul. The Amos and Hallett families definitely have this concept down. Such warm, welcoming families that came together beautifully for Alex and Robert’s big day. Incredible people, loving, creative, talented. We found ourselves in the midst of musicians, artisans, hair stylists, possibly some dabbling comedians, so many people who blended together to make the day complete. It was a fun-filled, beautiful weekend capped by the amazing ceremony with perfect weather and a gorgeous bride.
You may remember Alex + Robert from their engagement photos earlier this year. We had the fortune of following them to Lancaster, Ohio to capture their wedding day at the beautiful Cheers Chalet. We pulled into the driveway shrouded in leafy trees and soon found ourselves driving past cozy looking cottages marking the way down to the beautiful chalet built out over a wood-circled lake. It is an absolutely stunning property. Perfect setting for a summer wedding.
So many special little details for Alex and Robert’s day that made it truly reflect who they are. Alex’s dad made the jewelry the bridesmaids and flower girls wore. Alex's horseshoe ring was beautifully custom created by Jewelry by Michael. Robert’s top had was reflected in the cake design. Marles had her doggie bed and spot of honor at the head table. The barn they put so much work and love into was represented in the wedding colors. Pops of sparkle. Delicious food and cake - all of which was gluten-free and so tasty. Never had gluten-free cake before? We wouldn't have known! Vanilla, chocolate and red velvet was so good! Choreographed first dance. And, well, since the horses couldn’t come to Ohio with them, Alex just had to make do!
We know these two put the same amount of love and hard work into everything they do. They are fiercely determined and dedicated to each other and their family and it was an honor to be able to capture that for their wedding day. Many amazing adventures await you!
