2017 was a very busy, very full year. Our plate was so full with amazing horse shows, we were not able to take on a single wedding. And we LOVE weddings! A little past halfway through the year, I was hoping to start on developing our wedding marketing some more when an inquiry came in. I stared in disbelief at my screen as a Facebook notification stared at me that Jordan messaged me and the preview of the message had wedding in it. I was shaking and jumping around the room. Total fan-girl moment that surely all equestrians can understand. Two top level show jumping riders getting married and wanting us to shoot the wedding?! Yes! Yes! A thousand times yes!
Jordan and Jared are such an amazing team we have had the pleasure of photographing at a number of shows over the years along with Jared's dad, Derek. I'm always behind a lens at the shows and the most I had ever gotten to say to any of them was a "congratulations!" or "great ride!" or frantically during award photos "eyes on me!" or "it's okay, let him walk a circle and let's try again!" The past couple months since Jordan's inquiry, we've gotten to know them better and her and Jared remind me of Dustin and I so much. They are clearly best friends and partners first and foremost. They share the same passions: faith, family, horses, each other. We are so excited for them to be embarking on this adventure together and cannot wait for their big day!
We had so much fun with their engagement shoot. It was thrilling to capture these photos at the Petersens' lovely Legacy Farm. Words don't do justice to how gorgeous of a backdrop it served for romantic engagement photos Everywhere I looked was beautiful light, huge oaks trees with those wisps of Spanish Moss that catch the sun so perfectly. We even got to use the famous Lazaro and Titus 2:11 as props! What a dream to get to work with such amazing people, beautiful inside and out, and their fabulous horses!
